Baking Cookies with Gramma

Bella's first cooking lesson. Baking chocolate chip cookies. She really got into it as you can see by the flour on her face.

Lawn Chair Organizer

When I was out in Maine this past February, Dena had a pattern for a bed organizer that you use on the side of your bed. It held all the important stuff that you need within an arms reach without getting out of bed. I redesigned the pattern to fit on your favorite lawn chair. It has pockets to hold all the stuff you need outside - favorite book, magazine, note pad & pen, suntan lotion, bug spray and sunglasses. I am still working on a place for your wine glass and wine bottle.

Summer Work Space

My new summer work space has lots of perks. A great view of the lake, a friendly coworker, Ms Birdie and an awesome security guard, Mr. Baxter. I Love Summer...

Goodbye Winter

I can not believe that the ice is almost gone and it is only March 28th. Last year we were still snowmobiling. Can't wait to fish off the pier, drink a glass of wine and enjoy the sunset.

Welcome Spring & Easter

I have been working on my Easter Cards and used a new technique using detail embossing and water colors. It was lots of fun.

Old Windows

Don't throw away those old windows. My latest creations is the snow scene that I painted on an old window that I had. The paint is acrylic so if I don't like it I can wash it off. I also am looking for old windows to built my cold frame to start seedlings. If you have any old windows - you know who to call.

No More Brown Paper Bags

I purchased a bag pattern kit that all you had to do was cut it out and sew it together. After it was finished, I thought it would be better if the bag was bigger so I came up with my own pattern. Then I found a pattern for a reversible bag using fat quarters. It has pockets on the outside and the inside. It is more sturdy because you have fusible fleece between the materials. I have been having fun finding different materials to make the bags. It only takes about 2 hours to put a bag together.

2010 TIME TO GET ORGANIZED

What better way to spend the New Year - Organize the Pantry. I recently found the door organizer and today we had the opportunity to hang it. I now can see what is on my shelves and I will not be buying stuff that I already have. It was amazing what I found and all the stuff with old dates...the oldest date was 2006. I had three bags of powdered sugar and I can't remember the last time I used powdered sugar. It always feels good when you clean out the cupboards and start fresh. Have a Happy New Year and 2010 is the Year to get Organized.
